The flower beds are full of Daffy's and Hyacinth and are so gorgeous.  I wish it would last.

It is overcast and yet dry so far today.  Pretty.  I have one that is a double or triple layer bloom.. two of cream and one of a soft orangy color.  Beautiful.

Many of the decorative and fruit trees are in full bloom.  Dogwood, both kinds should be blooming in a few weeks.  The Azalea should be coming out with blooms in about a month.  I think, maybe sooner.

I am a Long-Arm-computer-aided quilter, I have a small business quilting for others, and make and donate quilts to Quilts of Valor, (my favorite project),  Community Service which is our Safe House for folks in Crisis and for Christian United Outreach Center,  (CUOC).  It is fun and keeps time filled with something good.

I also love crafts and make and sell some of them, like the lapel pins made out of cotton pods, and beads made from white and sweet potato's that I make,  and some things made of Fimo and Sculpy.  I love it as I can make jewelry to go with some of my clothing, when the colors aren't available for purchase.

We occasionally dogger sit our kids Mini pinscher, and he goes wild in our back yard.  It is fenced so he doesn't run away as he is prone to do.  He doesn't know it but he could clear the 5 foot chain link fence with room to spare.  At his home he is either on a tether,  or a leash, so he hasn't figured out how to jump over, and he also Loves to chase the birds and squirrels when here..  He is like a grand child and while fun to have him, it's good to see him go home.  lol

Today is a beautiful day.  Sun is out, just a few wispy clouds.  Some even evaporate while I am watching them.

Now and then we have 3 deer that go past out back fence, and today there were 5 doe.

They are so pretty.

I need to go get prepared for the rest of the day and get back to the machine quilting.  I hope to finish one today and start on the next.. a child's quilt.. in fact I think I have 5 kids quilts that need to be finished.

Golly, all my posts from this week are gone.  Sort of irritating.  Time and brain power just wasted.

Nice and sunny here in the Sand Hills.  Daffy's are about done blooming, the tulips buds fully open in one day.  I'd not noticed that before.  We've no flowering bushes in our yards so it will soon be a case of having to look at the neighbors bushes to see beauty in flowers.

It's been on the warm side lately.   We've used the air conditioner several times.

Today I will finish a quilt on the long-arm frame, and get it off and trimmed.  It is fleece so I don't have to put the binding on.   I really don't like doing the binding. 

Our oldest daughter  came over and spent most of the day with us.  We played cards for hours, ate supper and played a couple more games of Hand and Foot.   It was fun..

Grass will soon be needing a mowing.. love the smell. Just can't get out in it.. In fact with Pine pollen falling and coating everything, makes breathing hard.  Can't go fishing during the spring pollen season.

The wood-like laminate floor is finally down in the second bathroom.  the rest of the house
was done in either 2006 or 2007.  Just the laundry room to go, and with two heavy appliances to move around, it can't be done until our Grand son is able to help us.  I hope that is soon.  Then we only need 2 new carpets, some year,  ;o)   It would be nice to have it  today.  Oh, the wonderful dreams.. Some actually come true!

 

Next week will be quite busy with Dr. appointments, ECA projects, Guild projects,  and crafts and quilting.

 

I have to put my treadle on Craig's List to sell.  It is one of those with the long skinny bobbin and it moves around while sewing.  Can't think of the right word, but it's something like a chattering bobbin. 

 

Life calls and things are awaiting my attention,  willingly given.

Another beautiful day.  Sun is shinning and it is going to be quite warm.  10:30 and it's already 74. 

More and more tulips are opening. Seems to only be 2 colors,  must have boughten them in single color packs.


April 15,  Mon.

Well Weather has changed overnight it seems.. gray dismal overcast. Now and then, a dark gray cloud.

Life will happen today.  I have an afternoon Dr. appt.
I hope I can finish a quilt I have on the long arm machine. It is slow going and I really wish the next will be easier.

weeds are coming up in abundance in the garden plot.
It's about time to get seeds planted.  I'd like to put in some winter vegies this
fall.

Quilting is my game, and business so I plan to finish piecing a quilt top today, and get it on the frame and hope to sell it.  I love quilting, cutting fabric is getting hard in long sessions, so I have to shorten them.  The other thing I don't like is trimming fabric threads on the back.  I trim each seam at both ends as I go.  I'm also able to put the binding on, finished by machine.  Unable to do handwork to any extent, so these tools do the job.  So pretty, too.

After I sort through a stack of papers, and post items to sell on www.sewitsforsale.com    odds and ends and 3 stacks of used books and magazines. That will allow me room to work on crafts.

Oh I hope I can sell a couple of my sewing machines.  One is my treadle, and I'm not finding the time to use it as much as I'd like.  The other is the Wizzard, which was only produced a couple years for Western Auto.  It runs well, we just can't use it as we thought.  nice cabinet with double fold out, so a lot of sewing room.  I would like to keep that one, but, again room is a factor.

Oh it would be nice to have a once a week house cleaner.. then we'd both have time to piece and for me to quilt them.

Must head down to sewing room and get the machine to stitching.
