Today is the beginning of our few day break and some kind of celebrating our anniversary # 55, trip to the Mountains, the Smokey's that is.

So far I've only had glimpses of them in a couple of places, unless we can count one Mt. Highway we chose to come home on, during a blizzard.  The east gate of the park closed as we passed through.
We saw a couple of wrecks on the way.. both cases seemed to be caused by speed or hitting the brakes, from the tire tracks they left.

We've been up in Boone NC once before for a granddaughters graduation.

We've also been up in the Cullawee and Cherokee areas.  All beautiful and just slightly different from each other.

I'm praying the blackberries are still ripening and I can get at least a handful to eat.  Gotta love those things.

Quilting and crafting have been on the back burner while I recover a bit more from the incisions that were made to remove the tiny wires from the spine, and the controller from my hip.  They feel quite good and are healing... itching reveals that.

Must finish packing and get on the go.  have waited too long for this, to just let time slip past.

Shall return with a better spirit in me and I also think a better "lets do it and enjoy it"  attitude.  It's time to get things done.
