Hospital stays prevent a lot of things from getting done.

Today is beautiful, clear skies, low temps, so far just in the high 60's..  Feels so good after the hot spells we recently had.

Quilting will get something done today, I just don't know what, yet..  not much energy.

I bought a quilt top in Paducah, Ky last year.  Was getting it ready to be quilted one day, when I took a long look at the back.

Some of the seams were close to one inch wide, some so narrow they were sewn off one of the 2 fabrics in the seam.  None were trimmed.

While in the hospital, I took the top apart, down to the 2.5" pieced squares.  I think I am going to need to take them apart as well, then check the sizes, trim if needed, and resew.  It will be a pretty quilt once sewn properly.

This quilt was one started by a lady with hand stitching.  Then I could see areas where the stitching was less and less accurate, then it was finished by machine by someone who tried, but failed in putting together a nice top.

I am so eager to see how it comes out once it is finished.

For now I have to concentrate on the two projects I hope to enter in our Guild Quilt show on Oct.
18, 19.  Sanford NC,  Dennis Wicker Civic Center on Nash St.  Runs parallel to Horner across from the  Lee County High School.

The car with the quilted cover will be on display so it will be extra special for anyone who gets to the show.

Our chestnut tree is dropping leaves.  It is always the first to leaf out and the first to turn to fall and winter.  Glad I finally got an identification on it.

My house plants are doing so well, it is nearly unbelieveable.  Outdoors, though we plant, it seems it is just for deer feed.  Far too many petunias were purchased and barely have greens left.  Silk flowers will have to do until I can find a solution, or something that at least helps deter the deer.

It will be fun to research and decide how to plant a pretty yard.  Right now everything seems to be
a mish-mash and needs something to outline the plots..

So, off to a good day of doing something.
Have a blessed day.
