June 4

Today will be busy with quilting, piecing and Two appts. one at 11 to 12:30 and the next one at 1.

Himself planted one Kale.. and 3 sprouting potato's.  They are doing well, he needs to cut the kale, and see if it keeps putting out new leaves.

The potato's we won't check on until Sept.  There should be a mess of them as the plantes are really doing well.

We need to get some plants set in the soil, which is just sand then so far down, rock, big rocks.

Had some rain last night and the skies are still overcast.. warm and very muggy, again the kind of
humidity that clings to one, dampens clothes.  Icky stuff.

It is fun to watch the squirrels out the window.  We have one that has a white belly.  None of the others even have a hint of white.

We've had a lone robin coming in to drink and bathe.  I think the others went south.  I love the robins
We also have cow birds,  a little black bird that doesn't have the red on the wings, just a very dark gray head, back, tail and wings, with a paler gray underneath. Then there are the wrens or finch, the sparrows, dove, a red headed woodpecker. Oh, I can't forget the cardinals, the state bird.
All with different habits and manurisms.. One will chase the one squirrel when it comes around.  Don't know why, or what may have happened.

Of course we have hummingbirds, and some goldfinch.. love canary's...

I think that about sums up the pets category, oh, I mussent forget the sneaky cat.  No one seems to know who owns it, and it needs to be spayed, has far too many kittens, and for some reason uses our yard/shed to birth the babies.  We are hoping we can catch it and take to a local, privately owned shelter.

We think a fox or hawk got the three babies this year.  They were so cute, and we are unable to
have pets.
