We survived

June 10.

It seems the dates this site puts on the posts is off by a month or so.

We survived Hurricane Andrea.  Thank our Lord, we only got some
winds and lots and lots of rain.

Our only Grandson Graduated on June 6th, out in the stadium.
It began sprinkling as they were walking in and forming rows by
alphabetical order.  When all but three rows had walked in and
taken their places by the chairs, it was raining.  Then it began to
down pour.  None of the kids had umbrellas.

The Principal announced that due to weather, the Sr.s would
receive their diplomas first.  We took it to mean if the rain kept
up, we wouldn't be listening to speaches.  Not to be!

We sat there, most of us covered with umbrellas,  and I was
even in my London Fog Raincoat which was NOT supposed
to leak.  Well, the rain came right through the umbrellas, and
even my raincoat leaked like sieves.

The ceremonies lasted over 1 1/2 hours, so everone was soaked
through and through..

The grads walked off the field walking through puddles and the
ditch.  More than one said why worry, and many of the kids
replied, the shoes are already wet inside and out.  Or I'm already
soaked to the skin, why bother.

I'd been sitting in my walker on the slightly cushioned seat,
and didn't know I was also sitting in a puddle. formed on the seat.

Well today is a busy quilting day.. I have several to finish.

Until then,
