Mon.  June 17,

It is going to be a harried week, so many appts., things to do for others, that we are going to be huffing and puffing by the time we finish the week out.

Today is kind of overcast.. I think it is supposed to clear up.  We had quite a bit of rain last week.
we Had just over 4" on Thurs, and I believe it was nearly 2" on Fri.  I know others have received so much more!  For us that is a lot, and we did have a few main roads/streets into town flooded for a few
hours.

Thurs the town was blacked out when the main line for us was broken.. took us only about 4 hours to
get ours back on.. parts of town were still out until Sun., morning.  We tried going to the next town and the Sherrifs dept turned us back with several trees down, a few of them over power lines.

Came back to town and we found a restaurant open with 4 other businesses in a strip mall, and got a pizza, one of the best I've ever eaten.  came home thru black outs, got home and our street had power!

Later we both thought of the camping stove we have, and the flashlight lamps and kerosene lamps, so that would be great.  Couldn't think what to do to cook outdoors as the side door and deck aren't covered,  then thought of the front porch.. well covered, and rain coming from the other side, so it stayed pretty well dry.  So had we come home when it was still without power we could have survived with no problem, for a day or two.

I'm working on some craft items, and enjoying that as well as the quilting.  At times I just need something a bit different for variety.

Just about finished piecing a top for grandson, and finishing up one on the frame.

Time to leave for appt.  Will have fun when we get back.

I really need to label and bind a few that are otherwise finished.
