It is boring

Monday  July 8, '13

For several days now, we have been under daily, continued flood watches.  The rains have come, and stayed and stayed.  I refuse to let the lack of sun give me gloomy days.

Today is the 4th of July.  While we don't go out and celebrate, and our familty does each their own and  friends are all out west while we are back east.  We have many acquaintences  here and no idea what they do.  So no cemetaries to decorate, think and pray at, as we did as a family while growing up.

I'm not sure what my aim is for today.  I know it will have to do with the quilting, just haven't decided yet.

This first photo shows the rain everyone there, including the grads and speakers all sat through.
No one was dry unless they had a good rain coat.  Even my London Fog raincoat leaked. Umbrellas leaked,  everything leaked.

I will be posting more photos. Many of these finished quilts, I'm so proud of. I really did a good job for a fairly new quilter. Age and illness's and injuries have made a difference and I am no longer able to free hand like I use to. The computer will be my favorite quilting tool, for stitching designs for most work now. designs will be close to perfect now.

This next pict is of a quilt I made a while back.     When this pict was taken, it still needed the binding sewn down.  I did the feathers fairly well then but improved a lot.

This is a pict of himself showing the quilt he made, and won a blue ribbon on, at the Lee Regional Fair, in Sanford, NC.   Do you think he was happy with it??  lol, so easy to see that he was.

This shows what popped up in a package of regular daffodils.. it is 4 or 5 layers and the colors are a light umm maybe apricot, very soft colors.  We received quite a bonus in this one.

This was such a pretty quilt I started at an overnight quilt session that the guild had.  I think only 5 or 6 of us went.  I had to poop out before morning.. Glad I had a cot to lay in.  I did finish it at home.
The outer corners have a purple fabric which doesn't show up much.  In person it was quite pretty.

This beauty was a Quilt of Valor I received to quilt for another donor.  Sure was pretty and fun.

I think I've spent a lot of time on here the last few days trying to make sure I've not already posted picts.  I have so many it is hard to keep track of.

All of you have a wonderful week.
