The weather is beautiful.. cool with just a few wispy clouds out now and then. It is finally light jacket autumn weather. The scent of fall is definitely in the air.
I got a call from the Corum lady, she needs to come early so about one.
We hired a man to come and do a bit of minor electrical work, not sure if he will make it today. He and his wife run a thrift shop to aid recovering addicts and help pay for the residence they set up, and the expenses the recoverers can't meet at first. He works in the shop 2 days, his wife 2 days and both of them for 2 days.. She is on duty today and having flu like symptoms, so he may have to work and reschedule the work. Work is rescheduled for next week.
This Quilt of Valor is coming out nicely. I only have to put more hours into it. I don't want to rush and end up making placement errors and have to remove the stitching.
It is so much fun to finally be back to actual quilting. I'll not be doing free hand on this quilt.. The quilt is just too busy, so will use a computer which is attached to the quilting machine and runs it for me. The design is either on my computer, or I can find something on line that I can use and buy.
Soon it will be a gentle wash. Then it will hang in the Hearts and Hands ECA Quilter's Guild Boutique at our Quilt Show on October 18-19.
It will be featured as the Quilt of Valor, and I'm hoping we can get some literature for handouts. The Information is needing to be spread out further. Maybe some will even make donations. I don't have much batting left that I can use for the Quilts of Valor. I wonder if I could put in a request for the DAV and hand out some quilts there. Hmmm a good idea there.
I have so many UFO's, and so many needed or still need binding.. label... a touch up or two. Now that I'm more alert and able to do more and think better, I am aiming to make sure all quilts that still need a binding, or labels, or partly quilted into a sandwhich, are finished by the end of the year. We'll see how that goes.
Be,
Happy, healthy, safe,
Have a Terrific Day
