June  29th   Half way through the year!!

Today seems like it is going to be better than  yesterday, when it was, by local temps, 98..  There were storms yesterday evening as forecast, then another sometime during the late evening, or during the night.

Today is partly sunny, and the weather forecast was as "usual",  storms about 3 in the afternoon, into the night.  We get storms about daily lately.  It isn't bright light as yesterday was, but it is nice today.

I aim to finish putting the zippers on the leaders today,  check over the quilt top that's in the making.

The car was repaired yesterday afternoon, we went and picked that up, got the VA questions answered, Finally got some of the Stupendous Ice Cream one local shop has.. made locally, owned locally, eaten locally and we love that kind of shop.  The Walmart shopping then on to the grocery followed, and at last home to a nice cool house, and a badly needed 30 minute nap.

With thoughts wandering back over the last several years, I have so many quilts I finished and did quite a nice job on.

This first one was so much fun.    The photo's features were pre-printed, and I used sashing to give it the look of a collage.  The light house, I think the one on the bottom,  is the one I used glow in the dark threads to highlight the lighthouse light in the dark.  Quite neat when I finished.

The next photo is of a technique try-out on a place mat. using a batik blue with white wisps of clouds, for the baskic top,  leaves from silk flowers next on top of the blue, and ending with the blue voile on top.

I loved the way it showed up the sparkle in the voile.

This one shows the back, using different leaves, and it has a plain white voile over the top.  Note they are just scattered around, no pattern as on the reverse side.   This side is called "Falling Leaves"

Here is the result of an idea I had and it is a wall hanging, or could be used on a table being used just to show off their love of our Lord, and the precious earthly items He has given you.
Of course they depict the birth and death of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  God does love us totally!!

Each side of the following feature, have to be sewn and Highlights stitched, before the two are sandwiched together and stitched, with Invisible thread..

I really don't remember, though I think I used either glow in the dark, or metalic thread fir the rays coming down from the star.

This shows the reverse side, and my other being holding it.  He was sleepy.  These also had the netover layer.

With Christ's birth fresh on my mind,  and the family, and thus thoughts of the secular celebration of Christmas,  these crafty ornaments come to mind.  These are just a couple samples of the ornaments I have made to sell.

This is one of my favorite Christmas Cactus's which usually bloom for Thanksgiving.  Just beautiful.
A side shot really shows the blooms off.

I love house plants, some small cacti such as  this one.

Lastly for today, this was a fun project  I joined in, at the guild.
I really don't  remember what the occasion, maybe the regional fair?

The title was "Petals of Passion".   Us old gals can think of such silly things, in spite of age.
