We have been so busy.. it is hard to find time to update.
Side Saddle has made an upgrade/update to their quilting computer program, and it makes things that were easy to start with, so much easier.
I'm messing around with that now, trying to memorize the steps to take, and when. Not hard, just my slow to recall brain.
I'm cross hatching a grid behind a preprinted-panel quilt. The cross hatch really makes a block stick out, I think.
Next to go on the frame is a NCState quilt.. so far looking good.. I'm praying there isn't too much white for a young person just entering college.
The flowers in the yard, have miraculously sprung up overnight and it is looking so much better.
I need to get to Dollar Tree and get a bunch more to plant. I'm just tired of a bland yard once the iris and tulips and daffys bloom. If I can't get him to care for them, and can't get the deer to stop eating the petunias and other flowers, then I see no alternative but the fake flowers.
I'm working on a quilt for the show, and starting another small quilted wall hanging. Two very different techniques. The show is mid Oct. so I need to get busy and not be rushing at the last minute.
I can work on either of them, while the Side Saddle quilt machine computer is doing the job I ask
for. It is such a God Send.. I couldn't quilt otherwise.
Weather has been so nice lately. Not terrifically hot and only a little high humidity.. plenty of sun, even when it's storming or raining.
Fall is arriving a bit early. Leaves falling from more than one tree.. and the smell is a fall scent that can't be anything else.
We did find our one rogue tree is a chestnut. Has a very odd shaped leaf, much like a northern maple with the top part taken out. just sort of a small dip in the middle at the top, after 2 lobes out from the stem.
Must be the weather that has me anxious to get busy quilting, so I shall..
Later
