December 23, 2013

Monday

Today my hubby,  Himself, turned 78.  He is still going strong, just a little slower, and finding a few things are harder to do than they were before.

We will be taking him out to supper at Longhorn, down in Pinehurst.  Their Flat Iron Steak is to die for, so tender.. and so much flavor.  That's my selection for tonight.  Again.

Today began dark and gloomy.. it is totally overcast and a light rain has been falling for a couple hours now.   We badly need the rain, haven't had much in a couple weeks.

Quilting is back on the agenda today.  We wanted to get Michaels quilt on the frame and finish it, but can't find it.  I know it is in a small case, about double the size of a shoebox, but where?  We have searched high and low.

Listing magazines and their dates to sell on Quilter's Flea Market, or Sew It's For Sale.  I have to do something creative with them and selling seems the best.

Listing the small computer I got, and was told it was a tablet, for sale.. It's not doing anything on Craigs list.. don't know where else to list it.  I do need to sell it.. can't use it since I don't speek Google, don't speak Apple, Don't speak Chrome.. and need a tablet with photo capabilities.

Have to sell something to be able to buy a real tablet.. I think we will go either to Amazon book store, or Best Buy.    I am so sorry I wasted all that money.   Live and learn, I guess.

I saw a very cute baby quilt, which could be done with one colorway and white background, and easy to make.  I'm guessing I'd use either a 3 or 4" hst.. probably the 3 to get more of the design.. maybe 4.  Will need to lay some 3 and some 4" blocks out and see what I need.  for new babies, I see pink, blue, aqua, lavender, yellow, orchid, turquoise, palest tan, pale green.   For Adults, any one colorway, a bit darker.

I think it would make a neat Quilt of Valor, using red and blue rows alternating.. it makes up into a chevron pattern.  Simple and gives a lot of open area for designs, and to enhance the colors.

The facet nerve in the neck/shoulder/arm is bothering.  I will have to see about trimming the blocks after I sew them.  If it hurts, then on to the quilting machines computer work.  Have to find the quilt, first.

Found another quilt which needs some restitching.  For some reason the bobbin thread was loosy-goosy and needed frogging.  That is something Penny, my Lenni can do easily.

I am going to try to post a pict of the fish I caught out at San-Lee Park on  Fri.  I was so excited!  A few years ago, I caught the biggest caught in the lower pond.  It was 22" and I think just less than 5 pounds.

This one was 29" and 9.4 pounds..   Note!  I am not photogenic.. I was saying,  "Like this?"  in reference to how high to hold it.

I need to find a way to post on face book, too.   The kids and a couple friends would really like to see it and drool, I'm sure.  LOL.

We had some last night and it was OHHH, So Good!  He breaded and fried it.  Next will be some batter dipped nuggets.  He cut and kept several filets.. wrapped individually for easy separating and quicker thawing.

Well, time is going by, and I'm not going out of this chair.. need to go to Face Book and see what I can do about posting the pict.

Wonderful day to you and make it a happy, Pre-Christmas day.
