December 24, 2013

Tuesday

Himself had a good time last night at Longhorn.. and we all had a very good meal.

Today, I am putting pressure on myself.. still have rolls to make for tomorrow,  some oatmeal with walnuts cookies to bake.. want to make a pie, and maybe 2.

I think I missed the pressure to get everything done.  Oh, we also have to wrap all the gifts.   We have them all laid out on the floor, ready to do something with.

I still have to remember to get Himself's Birthday and Christmas Cards out.. LOL, Valerie forgot to bring the one from them last night, and I forgot.  He didn't remind me when we got home, so I didn't dig it out.

In fact I think I need to go do that right now, before I forget again.  That is done and all the cards for the family are out and ready to be signed and named.

Today doesn't look like a dream Christmas.. it does feel like it.  Our high is 56F, which generally is nice, with the chilled wind, it is cold.  Jacket and cap time.

I also want to get a bunch of tumblers and one other shape cut.. put some of these scraps to good use, and end up with something pretty.

I am so blessed, and feeling like a smarty pants!  I can once again Thread a needle and not have to ask anyone for help.  I've not been able to do that for a couple years now.  I love the progress this nearly worn out body of mine is still able to make.  Progress or recovery, I'm not sure which.

We bought me a new fern yesterday it is called, Frosty Fern.  Diff from any I've seen, a beautiful leaf and shape, two colors, older leaf and brighter new growth on the same leaf.  Very pretty.  I wouldn't pass up the Paper White Narcissus.  The container said 4 bulbs.  I got the 4 plus 5 baby bulbs already putting out shoots.  So anxious to see them bloom.  Love the smell, too.

I also got to wear my new sweater and size 8 slacks.. it's been a long time in coming to get back down and into an 8.  Waiting until I can get back into the size 8 dresses I have.  I think I have a red sweater for tomorrow.. Will remember to take a T-shirt in case I get too warm again.  Need to take Valeries loaner back to her.

Well, there is still time enough in the day to bake two batches of rolls, if one fails, so am going to go get that going, then the cookies and pies, then supper, and then wrap the gifts and find bags to carry them in.   No sense in taking them loose, or in several small bags.. I'm sure we have at least one huge one to put them in.

Have a wonderful, baking, wrapping, shopping, eating and visiting day and may your
CHRISTmas be blessed.
